Update: Police have done some investigating. They have determined that there was Rat Poison present in the Taco Bell, but they have ruled out Taco Bell as the Culprit. They have been trying to get ahold of the man, but he is not accepting or returning calls. Dun dun dunnnnn.
A man went to Taco Bell on Smokey Hill on Sunday, around 1PM. He went through the Drive Thru, and Ordered his food. At some point, it was mentioned that the soda machine wasn’t working, which sparked an argument. The man took his food, and took off. Apparently it was a fairly large argument, because the police were notified of it.
Later that night, the Arapahoe County Sheriffs Office were notified that a man had been taken to the hospital, with possible rat poisoning symptoms. Turns out, the man at the Hospital was also the man at the Taco Bell from Earlier. The man said he had waited until about 7PM to eat his tacos (about 6 hours after he had ordered them), and then felt violently ill immediately. He called 911 and they took him to the ER.
Arapahoe County Deputies went to the man’s house to pick up the remaining food. They are currently running tests to see if it was indeed rat poison, or if he had just let ground beef sit out too long. Experts say you should not eat Ground Beef, including tacos and burgers, that has been sitting out for more than 2 hours at room temperature.
