Coors Field, the baseball stadium in Denver, Colorado, has extended its alcohol sales policies following introducing the pitch clock for the 2023 Major League Baseball season. This change has prompted several teams to adjust their rules on alcohol sales. On Thursday, the Colorado Rockies announced they would extend alcohol sales at Coors Field until the end of the eighth inning.
The decision to boost alcohol sales will commence on April 17, when the Rockies play against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Four other baseball teams, namely the Arizona Diamondbacks, Texas Rangers, Minnesota Twins, and Milwaukee Brewers, have also decided to prolong alcohol sales until the end of the eighth inning. Sports Illustrated says the new pitch clock has made games 25 minutes shorter than last year’s average duration.
