If you thought it was getting cold on Sunday, just wait a few days.
The consistent snow across the Denver area will be one issue out on the roads this week. Getting any of that snow to melt will be another.
Temperatures are expected to stay below freezing and get even colder on Tuesday and Wednesday, when another system is expected to bring more snow. And even when the snow clears out by Wednesday, it will stay cold: Morning lows on Thursday could drop below zero, meaning it’s “not impossible” that Denver’s all-time record low of -2 degrees could be tied or broken, according to the National Weather Service’s forecast discussion Sunday.
The record was set on Oct. 29, 1917, the only time temperatures have fallen below zero in Denver in October.
