Denver Police Seek 14-Year-Old in RiNo Shooting That Killed Bouncer
DENVER — Authorities are searching for a 14-year-old boy in connection with the fatal shooting of a bouncer outside a RiNo bar last week.
Steven Joseph Marquez, also known as “Echo,” is wanted on a first-degree murder warrant for the shooting death of Todd Kidd. The incident occurred on Wednesday night near Larimer and 29th streets.
Kidd, who worked as a bouncer at Federales Denver, a bar and restaurant in the RiNo Arts District, was shot while intervening in a disturbance outside the venue around 6:40 p.m. He succumbed to his injuries two days later at the hospital.
The tragic event has left neighboring businesses reeling. “Unfortunately, everything kind of happens in hindsight. It’s not till an event occurs where you want maybe a more protected feeling, but it feels pretty protected right up until it’s broken,” said Aaron Graham from Ratio Beerworks, located across the street from Federales.
The suspect, Marquez, is described as 5’5” tall and weighing 140 pounds. Anyone with information on Marquez’s whereabouts is urged to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
