Tense Encounter: Woman Pulls Gun in King Soopers Parking Lot
A frightening confrontation unfolded in a busy King Soopers parking lot near Federal Heights when a couple captured video of a woman pulling a gun on them. The incident occurred around 7 p.m., with the parking lot packed with shoppers.
The couple, who wished to remain anonymous, said they were preparing to leave when they got stuck behind a stationary vehicle. “We honked, trying to signal them to move,” they explained. Moments later, a woman emerged from the vehicle, shouting profanities and walking toward their car.
The couple began recording the exchange on their phone, but the situation quickly escalated. The woman pulled out a gun equipped with a blue laser sight, which the passenger noticed pointing directly at their shirt. “I was really scared. I told my partner, ‘We have to go, we have to go,’” the passenger said.
They immediately backed out of the parking lot and contacted law enforcement. Reflecting on the incident, the couple said they couldn’t recall doing anything beyond honking to provoke such an extreme reaction. They now plan to be more cautious in similar situations. “Maybe I should’ve been more patient and just waited,” they said. “Maybe then this wouldn’t have happened.”
Local authorities are investigating the incident, and no injuries were reported. The couple hopes their experience serves as a reminder of how quickly situations can escalate and the importance of staying calm in public encounters.
