Russell Westbrook Over 4.5 Rebounds (+105 on Bet365)
Since Julian Strawther went down with an injury two games ago, Russell Westbrook has gotten an increased role for the Nuggets, logging 36 and 35 minutes in those two games. In that span, Westbrook has averaged 10 rebound chances per game, becoming more involved on the boards due to his increased minutes.
Tonight, Strawther remains sidelined, and Westbrook should again see similar heavy minutes, and he has a great matchup tonight against the Phoenix Suns, a team that has struggled to contain opposing guards on the glass as of late. Over their last 15 games, the Suns have allowed the second most rebounds in the NBA to point guards, giving up a little over 7 rebounds per game to the position.
While Jamal Murray typically isn’t the type of guard who aggressively crashes the glass and pursues rebounds, Westbrook is exactly the opposite. Known for his triple-double capability, Russ has always aggressively crashed the boards, and with extended playing time and a good matchup, I wouldn’t be surprised if Westbrook sees 3 to 4 more rebound chances than he has the last 2 games and converts those into actual rebounds.
Given this favorable matchup, increased minutes, and Westbrook just being a guy who gets rebounds, there’s clear value in betting on him tonight to get over this line, and we get it at plus money!
