Pedestrian Seriously Injured After Collision with RTD Train in Northeast Denver
A pedestrian sustained serious injuries after being struck by a Regional Transportation District (RTD) train in northeast Denver on Monday morning. The incident occurred around 7:48 a.m. at East Smith Road and North Monaco Street, near the Northeast Park Hill neighborhood, approximately one mile from the Central Park station.
Denver Police responded to the scene and confirmed that the pedestrian was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries has not been disclosed. Authorities have yet to determine the circumstances leading to the crash, and an investigation is ongoing.
As a result of the incident, Monaco Street remains closed in both directions at Smith Road, and officials are advising commuters to seek alternate routes. Updates will be provided as more details emerge.
