The all-new Bronco debuted over a year ago, and production only just began after delays caused by a myriad of problems. The new offering has a lot of promise, and we expect to learn even more once it gets into the hands of customers. According to a new tidbit of information from TheBroncoNation.com, the new Bronco shares its transmission with the Ford Explorer.
It is unknown which 10-speed automatic transmission will deliver power to the Bronco’s rear wheels, but recent rumors indicate that the two models share more than just their makers. As of now, Ford has confirmed the Bronco’s 10R60 gearbox also powers the Explorer, though customers who are concerned about durability need not worry. It ran a stock Bronco with a stock gearbox in this year’s NORRA Mexican 1000 rally and placed third.
