Afghani refugees who flee Afghanistan to the United States confront a host of new challenges once they arrive. Most refugees arriving in Colorado will be hosted by three main arrival agencies and will receive assistance for five years.
In the first few days following their arrival, refugees will be referred to different clinics to receive medical evaluations. Most of these clinics are preparing to welcome more refugees in the near future.
Families will receive homes to live in, but then have to figure out how to fill them with basic necessities and other essentials – making it even more crucial for the community to chip in and donate.
