A man in Los Angeles County caught on camera the moment he encountered a mountain lion on a trail. Dutch Faro was out jogging on a trail near Pyramid Lake when a mountain lion charged at him from the brush. Faro was able to scare the animal off by stepping toward the animal and roaring at it.
California’s Department of Fish and Wildlife has said that there’s been an increase in human-mountain lion interactions over the past few years. If you ever have an in-person encounter with a mountain lion, you should not run, make sure that you’re vocal, give the animal an escape route and, if it does attack, fight back.
