When you go Skydiving the traditional way, you usually get about 40-50 seconds of free fall, followed by 4 or 5 minutes of parachuting. At iFly, with locations in Denver, Colorado Springs, and beyond, you can fall indefinitely. With fans and physics, iFly is able to simulate the free fall experience indoors, in a controlled environment. There’s no need to pack a parachute, or get strapped to someone’s back.
Your visit to iFly will last about two hours. iFly staff will get you suited up in all the gear you need, including flight suit and goggles. There’s a brief “training” session to teach you what you need to fly. It is very loud in the Flight Chamber, so there are some simple, but intuitive hand signals to learn. You will also get the basics for movement. Then you wait your turn, and get into the flight chamber, where you put what you learned to the test. Flight sessions last one minute, but you can get packages to fly longer. You will also get a certificate of flight, and there’s also pictures for sale so you can show off.
If you’re looking for a unique date night, iFly fits that bill, and they are also a great spot for Birthday parties for kids of all ages. Prices vary on time and how many flights you want to do, but it’s roughly $30-40 a Flight. iFLy has two Colorado Locations. The Lone Tree location is just South of Park Meadows Mall, and the new Colorado Springs location is at I-25 and Northgate. Hours vary from day to day, but they’re open until 9 on Friday and Saturdays.
There are some restrictions on who can fly: If you’re under 3, you need to wait a year or two. If you’re over 103, you missed your chance. Pregnant women need to wait a few months as well. If you weigh over 300 lbs, you may not be able to fly. They also advise people who have shoulder dislocation troubles may want to reconsider. If you have long hair, you’re going to want to put it in a bun, or braids.
