Greeley Police had some excitement this morning. Just before 10AM, residents of a house in Greeley approached one of their neighbors who was stealing their car. The thief pointed a gun at them, the neighbors backed off and called 911. He was identified as Cole Graves by the neighbors.
Police arrived, and Graves took off on foot. Graves came upon a man was washing his 1999 Toyota Corolla in the alley. Graves shot the man and drove off in the Toyota. Police pursued the Corolla for a bit, until Graves took a huge gamble: A Train was coming, and the crossing lights were blinking. The arms were down, and he blasted through them, just making it before the train blocked the path. The Police did not attempt to beat the train, and Graves was last seen at 4th Ave and 16th St in Greeley. The man he shot was taken to the hospital, and is expected to be OK. His car on the other hand probably has quite a bit of windshield damage.
If you know the whereabouts of Cole Graves, or the Toyota Corolla with License HOC-779, Det. Jackson Brunmeier of the Greeley Police would love to talk to you at 970-351-5352.
