If you’re driving on expired plates, make sure you’re not doing other illegal activities. On Monday, Wheat Ridge Police Officers pulled over a car near the Homeless Hotspot of I-70 and Kipling. The License plate tags expired in April. When the officers approached the car, they saw a container with a bunch of meth sitting there in plain sight. That gave them enough probable cause to search the car. They found 1,000 Fentanyl pills, A pound of Meth, a Stolen Gun, and it turns out the 42 year old guy didn’t have a valid license either. They did find 4 knives on his person though, which seems like a lot. The man was taken to jail on a bunch of charges related to selling drugs and having weapons he shouldn’t. And the Expired Tags. If your tags are expired, you will be charged $25 per month they are expired by, but that caps out at $100. So if you’re doing some shady business, go spend the $100 to get your tags up to date.
