A woman was driving around on Friday night, when the Platteville police got a call about a possible Road Rage incident involving a weapon. The police located the vehicle, and pulled her over near Highway 85 and County Road 38. The police pulled up behind the woman’s car, and apparently didn’t notice that they were parked on Train Tracks.
They took the woman out of her car, and placed her in the Patrol car, so they could search her vehicle. During the search, a train was traveling northbound and struck the Platteville Patrol car. The 20 year old woman was then taken to the hospital, where she was last reported suffering serious injuries.
The officers involved are all being investigated by many departments, including the Colorado State Patrol, The FBI, and the probably the NTSB, since a train was involved. Fort Lupton Police will be taking over the Road Rage incident.
