2020 was a touchy year for many from racial disparities, COVID to financial stress. In the middle of a division, the Human Rights and Community Partnerships (HRCP) of Denver is doing its part in keeping the community together.
“HRCP and its Renaming Committee reviewed a list of 370 city owned and insured properties. Using criteria developed by HRCP’s Renaming Commission in partnership with the State Historical Council at History Colorado, and with input from the Mayor’s 10 Advisory Commissions,” says the cities website.
Here are the 6 parks the HRCP is seeking help in renaming:
- Jefferson Park – (N Clay St. & W 22nd Ave. / City Council District 1)
- La Alma-Lincoln Park – (W 11th Ave. & N Mariposa St. / City Council District 3)
- Jefferson Square Park – (E Happy Canyon Rd. & S Ivy Way / City Council District 4)
- S.R. DeBoer Park – (S York St. & E Harvard Ave. / City Council District 6)
- Pasquinel’s Landing – (W Evans Ave. & S Huron St. / City Council District 7)
- Grant Frontier Park – (S Platte River Dr. & W Harvard Ave. / City Council District 7)
