The RARE Steak Championships took over Denver Memorial Day Weekend. Those who attended the event got to enjoy amazing steaks and specialty cocktails.
“We sold out weeks before the event, and that is really huge for us,” said Shalisa Pouw, director of operations with Dining Out to #IMFROMDENVER.
Regarding the kind of meat the chefs can choose from, Dining Out partnered with the Aspen Ridge All Natural Angus Beef to keep things fair.
“We work really closely with the Dining Out crew. The chefs that are participants have a variety of cuts they can select from,” Kelsey, the marketing manager for Aspen Ridge All Natural Angus Beef, to #IMFROMDENVER. “We age the meat for a few days ahead of the event to optimize the flavor and tenderness.”

While this year’s steak competition is over, Dining Out, they have other events for the rest of the summer, including one that involves creative libations.
“We have a digital magazine that features local restaurants,” says Pouw. “We’re putting on real cool cocktail competitions on June 7th at Meow Wolf.”
Putting on a great event also involves sponsorship. This year’s championship was in part thanks to great sponsors like Sysco and Buckhead.
