How to save money is a question on everyone’s mind lately. Luckily, there are many ways to do it. In this blog post, we’ll discuss three simple methods that anyone can use to start saving more today. Whether you want to put your savings into long-term investments, like a new home, or just create a rainy day fund, these tips will help you get started. So read on and discover how to save well over $100 dollars a month.
Make Your Own Damn Coffee
Buying coffee every day seems like the norm for so many of us, and thought I owed it to myself to purchase a daily cup of coffee. I figured it was the least I could do for myself. Every day, I would find myself walking into a Starbucks and purchasing just a cup of black coffee. I love my coffee black, but sometimes I like to add a little something extra. It usually costs me around $3-4 for each cup of flavored drink so it doesn’t seem too bad at first…but then you have spent this much almost every day on something, maybe it’s time to find a cheaper way to enjoy this tasty beverage. Just to do the math for you it’s $3 dollars a cup, times 5 days, times 4 weeks, which equals $60 dollars a month.
Stop The Impulse Buying Right Now
When you’re shopping online, consider putting an item in your cart and then walking away until you’ve had more time to think it over. This will help avoid overspending by giving yourself that cooling-off period before making the purchase! (In some cases, you might even get a coupon code when the retailer notices you abandoned the cart.) If 30 days seems like too long to wait, you can try shorter periods like a 24- or 48-hour delay. Most times you’ll forget about the item you just had to have and in the process save you possibly hundreds maybe thousands of dollars a year.
Cancel Unnecessary Subscriptions
It’s a good idea to examine the subscriptions you have on your account carefully. Sometimes, we might be paying for services or products that are no longer needed and can easily get rid of them by unchecking auto-renew in settings! If you have a smartphone go into your settings and see what is on auto-renewal, sometimes you can just tap a button and start saving today.
