As a single lady with kids, it can often be overwhelming to get ready for a date. But it is important that you carve out enough time for yourself. Consider this self-care.
If you still have young kids, have that babysitter come over early enough to give you the time and space to get ready. You don’t need to be frazzled before meeting up with someone!
Here are just a few tips we put together. Hopefully one or all of these make your date night easier!
Shower before your date
Even if you don’t wash your hair, you will still feel so much cleaner and fresher heading into the night.
Lather up with your favorite body wash, get a clean shave in if you do shave, and exfoliate your lips with a wet washcloth.
Moisturize. Moisturize. Moisturize
Everything. Seriously. Dryness isn’t appealing. Slather on that body lotion, face lotion, etc. Seal in all that post-shower moisture.
Wear a faint scent
This is important. So many women layer on the perfume so heavy and it is way too much. The scent should linger gently in the air as you move, not hit your date like a brick wall. Also, you never know if your date is sensitive to fragrance, so this is also a polite and considerate notion, just in case they are sensitive to fragrance.
Do your hair and makeup in a way that makes you feel beautiful but like the real you!
I see so many women that look like they are wearing a mask on a date, and hey if that’s your thing then go for it! But if that’s not you, please show your natural side. We do not need to wear 5 pounds of makeup to be beautiful. We really don’t.
Wear something you feel confident in and oh so gorgeous in…
This differs for us all. It could be your favorite pair of jeans and a blouse. A slinky dress. A suit. Who knows? You know!
But, do yourself a favor. This brings me to my last tip.
Please, wear shoes you know how to walk in!!!
Do not wear stilettos that you wobble in. If you can’t walk in them, don’t wear them! It takes away your confidence.
So, there you go. Some tips for getting ready for a date. So, enjoy yourself, be confident, be safe and be happy!
