Lakewood Police Seek Help Identifying Suspects in Assault and Attempted Carjacking
Lakewood police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects involved in an assault and attempted carjacking last month. The department has released photos of the suspects in a crime alert.
The incident occurred on September 20, around 10:34 p.m., at a convenience store on the 3600 block of Wadsworth Blvd. According to police, two male suspects assaulted a man and threatened him with a gun, claiming to be members of the “Crips” and from “Crenshaw.” The victim was reportedly targeted for wearing a red Chicago Bulls jersey.
Shortly after the assault, the suspects attempted to carjack another person at gunpoint. However, the second victim managed to escape unharmed.
Descriptions of the suspects are as follows:
- The first suspect has dark hair, wears glasses, and was seen wearing a trucker hat, a white tank top, and has tattoos on his right forearm.
- The second suspect has brown or reddish hair, was wearing a white t-shirt, and has tattoos on his neck and near his left eyebrow.
