Last night, news outlets were swarming with news of an unnamed man who held a woman hostage in the Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
According to a police statement, Matthew Mannix was “extremely high” when he held the woman hostage for several hours, even taunting police by “opening and closing the door” and claiming he had “a magazine full of rounds” and that he “would pull the trigger,” according to his arrest report.
Mannix, 35, is a Colorado fugitive with four active protective orders against him listed in Golden, Colorado. During the standoff with SWAT, he threw large items out the window, including a nightstand; he caused over $50,000 in damages.
