The current third-seed Denver Nuggets take on the Eastern Conference’s fifth-seed Milwaukee Bucks tonight at 7 pm MST. Both teams will be without their star big men, Nikola Jokic and Giannis Antetokounmpo as they rest through injury. Denver is coming off of a 129-119 loss to the Chicago Bulls where they struggled along the arc and defensively slipped in the fourth quarter.
Jamal Murray has stepped up his shooting with 28 points in the last game with the absence of his starting group. Deandre Jordan has excelled in filling in for Jokic with a double-double, (10 pts,17 rebounds, 7 assists). Peyton Watson also stepped up defensively with four blocks, and six rebounds, as well as cashing in on 24 pts.
Both teams come into this match-up off a loss and look to expand on their total with missing pieces on both ends. With the absence of Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo they look to depend on Kyle Kuzma, Brooke Lopez, and Gary Trent Jr. to fill in the gaps. With Aaron Gordon and Nikola Jokic as game time decisions, I believe Jamal Murray will still pull his weight and lock in, he’s hit the over point total in 5 of 8 lately games. Both and still have top-notch shooters who have gotten in the double digit point range these past couple games. I’m assuming more points for Kyle Kuzma, as he expanded on his double digit streak in place of his fellow starters. The Nuggets have hit the over on point total seven out of nine of their last games with a 78% rating. Winning the last 12 of 20 games, the Nuggets look to take this one on their own home court.
Over 224.0 Total ( -110 odds on Bet365)
