Tonight’s mid-week matchup comes after the Nuggets return home from a split in back-to-back games against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Arguably the biggest win of the season with a dominating OKC 140-127. Denver hosts the Minnesota Timberwolves at Ball Arena tonight at 8 pm MST. The Nuggets hold the second seed in the Western Conference while the Timberwolves are locked in as the 7th seed currently. The starting lineup will be without Aaron Gordon again due to a calf injury and both Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic are nursing injuries of their own but are still expected to play.
Denver has lost both games this season against Minnesota, and the Wolves have been on a hot streak since Julius Randle returned to the lineup after a right groin injury in late January. The Wolves are still 7-5 against the spread on the road as underdogs this season. Coach Michael Malone will need his squad to fire on all cylinders to stop Anthony Edwards offensively and anyone else if they get hot. See the best player props in today’s prop market for the Nuggets below-
Jamal Murray over 22.5pts (-110 on Bet365)
We’ve seen flashes of Jamal this season resort back to his days of reclaiming his nickname ‘Blue Arrow’ or ‘Bubble Murray’ after going on an incredible run into the 2020 playoffs. Murray recorded 22.5 points in 20 of 58 games this season. Last game against OKC was no different when he dropped 34 pts with 4 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals. The Canadian product couldn’t miss a free throw when he made it to the line 9 times. Monday’s win will serve as momentum in this home-court match-up, plus he will be relied on more offensively with Gordon out. He is playing his best basketball this season averaging 23.2 ppg in his last 40 games on a 60.7% shooting percentage.
Nikola Jokic over 1.5 3PM (-120 on Bet365)
Jokic has drained a total of 114 shots from beyond the arc this season. The big man is averaging 1.9 three made a game which is 0.4 above his predicted over/under for tonight’s game with an accuracy of 43%. This season he has put up over 2 made 3-point shots against Minnesota in this series. Look for him to knock down some shots from deep.
