Denver Weather: Soak Up the Last of the 80s on Friday Before Fall Sweeps In
If you thought Thursday was gorgeous, just wait for Friday! Denver is in for another stunning day, but big changes are coming this weekend, so you’ll want to soak up the sunshine while you can.
According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, Friday will bring mostly sunny skies and a high near 88°F. A gentle breeze from the south-southwest will blow at 5 to 8 mph, shifting to the east-southeast by the afternoon.
But here’s the catch: Friday could be the last warm day above 80°F for a while!
“Today will be the last day of above-normal temperatures and dry conditions,” says the National Weather Service. Breezy southwest winds combined with low humidity could create near-critical fire weather conditions, especially for Lincoln County and the Palmer Divide, so stay cautious out there.
As the sun sets, temperatures will dip to a comfortable 55°F with mostly clear skies, and the wind will shift from east-southeast to west as the night goes on.
Here’s a look at the weather as we head into the weekend:
Saturday:
Expect a cooler day with a high around 68°F. There’s a slight chance of showers around noon, with a higher chance of thunderstorms later in the afternoon. Winds will pick up, with gusts reaching up to 22 mph. The chance of rain sits at 40%, so keep an umbrella handy!
Sunday:
Cooler yet, with a high near 55°F and a 50% chance of showers, especially before noon. Clouds will dominate the sky, and winds will be light and variable.
Monday:
The sunshine returns! Expect a warm-up with a high near 75°F.
Tuesday:
Partly sunny skies with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. The high will be near 67°F.
Get outside today and enjoy the warmth—autumn is knocking on the door!
