It’s been a hot summer in Philadelphia. Kids and their pets alike were trying to cool off when one child and their unusual pet garnered much attention.
According to a local Philadelphia news station, CBS3 Philadelphia, a young girl and her emotional support alligator are out on a stroll and take a little splash in the fountains at Love Park.
An emotional support alligator you ask? Well, yes. In the city of Philadelphia it is legal to own an alligator. This particular alligator, named Wally, is a 7 year old reptile, a TikTok star and a licensed emotional support animal.
Wally likes to be pet and loves to give hugs. He was adopted in 2016 by a reptile lover named Joie Henney. Henney runs and operates a reptile rescue. Wally has been entered into an online competition for pets called “America’s Favorite Pet: Animal Kingdom.” The winner will receive $10,000 and be featured in a Touch weekly spread.
Wally is already an adored pet, with a TikTok following, featuring many videos showing him cuddling kids, visiting restaurants and swimming in pools.
