Police Take Three Into Custody After Barricade Situation in Englewood
Three people are in custody after a barricade situation in Englewood on Sunday night, following an alleged robbery in Denver earlier in the day. The incident began around 3:30 p.m. when Denver police responded to a robbery at a business in the 2200 block of South Colorado Boulevard. While the specifics of what was stolen remain unclear, authorities reported that the suspects allegedly stole the victim’s vehicle to make their getaway.
Shortly after, Englewood police were called at approximately 3:48 p.m. to assist Denver officers in locating several suspects and the vehicle involved in the robbery. Denver police confirmed a brief pursuit ensued, but the vehicle was eventually found in Englewood, near West Mansfield Avenue and South Inca Street.
Upon arriving at the scene, police said several suspects fled on foot from the vehicle and entered a nearby residence on South Inca Street. While multiple people were inside the home, many exited, leaving only a few behind. Englewood’s SWAT team was deployed and successfully ordered the remaining individuals to leave the residence.
By 9 p.m., three individuals were taken into custody by Denver police. The investigation remains ongoing, and no formal charges or arrests have been made. The Denver Police Department will continue to investigate potential connections between the individuals who exited the house and the suspects involved in the robbery.
