Window-Washing Drone Takes Flight Over Denver’s Skyline
Drones have come a long way—from recreational gadgets to tools of war—but now, one Colorado innovator is using them for something totally different: washing windows. Jay Hanna, the CEO of Drone Wash, saw the challenge of cleaning towering buildings and thought, “Why not use a drone?” Enter “Betty,” a custom-built, high-powered flying pressure washer equipped with eight massive motors, GPS, and a remote ID module.
Betty takes to the sky with a ground crew in tow and a hose in hand—literally hosing down buildings from angles traditional window washers could never reach. On this particular day, Betty was scrubbing the FlyteCo Tower, a restaurant and entertainment venue housed in the old Stapleton air traffic control tower.
“This isn’t replacing traditional window washing—it’s a brand new method,” said Hanna. “We can clean entire buildings in one smooth sweep.” The best part? It’s surprisingly mesmerizing to watch.
