Florida’s sunny shores weren’t quite so bright for former NFL star Timothy McKyer this Sunday. The three-time Super Bowl champion found himself in hot water after allegedly causing a fender-bender bonanza in a Riviera Beach parking garage.
According to police, McKyer took a joyride through the concrete jungle, bumping into a whopping five parked cars before making a quick getaway.
But leaving the scene of the crime, even for a Super Bowl champ, isn’t exactly a winning strategy. Police identified McKyer and slapped him with five counts of hit-and-run, each with a price tag exceeding $50. On top of that, he received a traffic citation for failing to report the incident and a criminal citation for, well, hitting and running.
McKyer, who suited up for seven different teams during his 12-year NFL career, including the Miami Dolphins and the San Francisco 49ers (where he snagged two Super Bowl rings), now faces a different kind of field: the courtroom.
It’s unclear what caused the alleged parking garage pandemonium, but one thing’s for sure: this former champion’s next play will be determined by a judge, not a playbook.
