Singer, actor, and entrepreneur Selena Gomez made an unexpected appearance at a Telluride High School volleyball game, delighting fans and students alike. According to an Instagram post on Saturday, Gomez was in town for the Telluride Film Festival and couldn’t resist stopping by the game after seeing a sign asking her to sing the national anthem.
“They asked!! Couldn’t help it, it’s my first time in Telluride!” Gomez captioned the post, expressing her excitement about the visit.
The “Only Murders in the Building” star shared a video on Instagram capturing the players’ surprised reactions to her arrival. The post quickly gained traction, amassing over 1.38 million likes.
Gomez was in Telluride to promote her upcoming film “Emilia Perez,” alongside writer and director Jacques Audiard and co-stars Karla Sofia Gascón and Adriana Paz. The film, also featuring Zoe Saldana, is set to premiere on Netflix in mid-November.
Gomez wasn’t the only celebrity in town for the Telluride Film Festival, which took place over the Labor Day weekend.
