A teenage girl who shot five people outside a popular Colorado bar last month will now be charged as an adult, prosecutors announced Thursday.
Keanna Rosenburgh, 17, is accused of opening fire outside Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row in the Lower Downtown neighborhood of Denver on Sept. 16 after she was denied entry. The shooting injured five people, all of whom were bystanders on the sidewalk.
“Following the incident, Rosenbugh fled the area, prompting police to offer a $2,000 reward for information about her whereabouts. She was arrested in Barstow, California — around 900 miles away from Denver — on Oct. 19 after four weeks on the run,” says The Messenger.
Rosenburgh was initially charged as a juvenile, but prosecutors have now decided to charge her as an adult. She faces 28 criminal counts, including seven counts of attempted murder and 15 counts of assault.
Rosenburgh is scheduled to make her first court appearance on adult charges on Nov. 6.
