Colorado Deputies Save Goat During DUI Traffic Stop
In Colorado, law enforcement officers are dedicated to maintaining the safety of our communities. Whether it’s helping citizens, patrolling neighborhoods, or tackling serious crime, officers encounter a wide range of situations during their shifts. However, last week in Douglas County, deputies experienced something truly out of the ordinary during a routine traffic stop.
Just after 11 p.m. on July 28, deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office were called to assist the Colorado State Patrol with a car accident involving a suspected DUI. While it’s not unusual for officers to find a dog in a car during such incidents, this time, they found a much more surprising passenger: a small goat. Fortunately, the goat was unharmed in the crash.
With the driver under arrest, the deputies took responsibility for the goat and safely transported it to the Buddy Center in Castle Rock. Despite the negative circumstances of the original call, the officers managed to turn the situation around, taking the opportunity to snap a few photos with their adorable, unexpected passenger.
While driving with a goat might seem unusual, it certainly adds to the list of strange items Coloradans have been known to keep in their cars.
