Colorado law enforcement stepped up DUI patrols over St. Patrick’s Day weekend. The Colorado State Patrol arrested nearly two dozen drivers for DUIs on the night before the holiday. This crackdown is part of an ongoing effort to reduce impaired driving. Throughout 2023, suspected drunk drivers were involved in about a third of all fatal crashes in the state. If you plan to drink alcohol this St. Patrick’s Day, CDOT urges you to use a designated driver, rideshare service, or public transportation to get home safely.
