If you have a Kia or Hyundai you’re gonna wanna be aware of this.
Thousands of Kia and Hyundai vehicles are being recalled over a potential fire hazard.
There is an antilock brake system (ABS) module that could malfunction and cause an electrical short, which could result in an engine compartment fire.
The recall affects Kia Sportage SUVs and K900 sedans. Hyundai’s recall includes some Santa Fe SUVs, Santa Fe Sports, the Santa Fe XL and Tucson SUVs.
The recall notice asks owners to “park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete,”.
Kia has been made aware three fires while Hyundai said it has received reports of eight fires.
Both automakers say there are no reports of injuries.
