Rockies Player’s Stolen Lamborghini Recovered in Multi-State Investigation
Colorado Rockies third baseman Kris Bryant’s 2023 Lamborghini Huracan was stolen in a sophisticated criminal scheme but has been recovered following a collaborative, multi-state investigation. The vehicle, initially reported stolen on Oct. 2 in Cherry Hills Village, went missing while being transported to Las Vegas.
Authorities discovered that the transport company handling the Lamborghini had been targeted in a business email compromise, allowing suspects to arrange unauthorized vehicle transport. Using license plate recognition cameras, Cherry Hills Village detectives traced the truck and trailer carrying the car to Las Vegas. On Oct. 7, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s VIPER Auto Theft Team and Homeland Security Investigations recovered the Lamborghini and arrested multiple suspects.
During the operation, investigators uncovered two other stolen vehicles, fraudulent VIN packages, fake registration documents, key fobs, and VIN-switching tools. A stolen vehicle connected to the case was also recovered in California.
“This case underscores the Cherry Hills Village Police Department’s commitment to protecting the community from sophisticated criminal schemes,” said Chief Jason Lyons. Collaborative efforts among local and national agencies ensured that stolen property was returned, and suspects are now facing justice. Police have not yet disclosed the suspects’ identities or potential charges.
