The Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that the body of Paul Peavey, a 57-year-old dog breeder who was reported missing last Wednesday, was found on Saturday, turning the case into a homicide investigation.
Peavey, known for breeding Doberman pinschers, was last in contact on August 19 and was officially reported missing on August 21. A private search party discovered his body just before noon on Saturday. Initially described as “suspicious,” Peavey’s death is now being treated as a homicide.
Adding to the mystery, several Doberman puppies from Peavey’s property have also gone missing, and their whereabouts are now a key part of the ongoing investigation. The motive for Peavey’s death remains unclear, and the coroner’s office will be determining the cause and manner of death.
The investigation is still in its early stages, and authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the sheriff’s office at 303-679-2393 or submit a tip online.
