Monday morning commuters on northbound Interstate 25 through Northglenn hit a fiery snag. Firefighters are currently battling a vehicle blaze that has shut down the three right lanes near 136th Avenue.
The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) pinpointed the inferno at Exit 225 (136th Avenue) at Mile Point 225.1. Expect delays of at least 10 minutes as the flames roar and emergency crews work to clear the scene. Be prepared for slowdowns stretching through Northglenn, Thornton, and the northern Denver metro area.
While details about the vehicle and the cause of the fire remain unclear, CDOT recommends considering alternate routes or factor in the extra travel time as you head north on I-25.
