Recently, I rode the light rail from DIA to Central Park for the first time ever. Initially, I was excited to finally see what people visiting Denver get to see on their arrival to the Mile High City. After all first impressions are everything right?
Nothing could’ve prepared me for what I saw on this 20-minute ride of horrors. Not since taking the Hogwarts Express train at Universal Studios Orlando has a train ride been more terrifying. I witnessed the following: a homeless fight club, people making hooch, discount strippers jumping on stained mattresses, an armed toddler holding up a food truck and a skunk mating with a bag of trash from a dispensary. In my opinion Denver would have been better off putting TVs in the train windows and using CGI to make Denver look more appealing. Clearly, the people mapping out the light rail did not take into consideration how scary the ride in would be. I also witnessed some guy playing craps on the train, and I’m not talking about the dice game.
If you haven’t had the pleasure of seeing the Denver backstage terror tour, I recommend it! They couldn’t have made it scarier if they tried! Some haunted houses charge a lot of money, but this ride is only $10. Are you brave enough? Remember to keep your hands and feet inside the ride at all times! If you get bit, Denver Light Rail is not responsible if you turn into a zombie yelling at yourself as you walk down Colfax. Honestly, If you have family or friends coming to visit the mile high city do them a solid and just pick them up!
