A Colorado couple’s fight during a Broncos game turned deadly when a Parker man strangled his girlfriend to death.
“Matthew Ivester, 37, was arrested after he called 9-1-1 and told dispatchers Stephanie Long didn’t appear to be breathing.,” says CBS Denver.“
The argument escalated after the couple was drinking says Ivester per the outlet. According to the arrest affidavit, he claims Long head-butted him as he sat on the couch. In retaliation, Ivester pulled her down to the couch next to him and began restraining her.
According to the arrest affidavit and CBS Denver, there was video footage of the altercation capture on the couples cameras that mounted the inside the residence.
“Long passed away later after being hospitalized in Littleton. A doctor told investigators that she suffered a brain injury and cardiac arrest, and went into a coma,” says the outlet.

Ivester faces seven charges, including 2nd Degree Murder. He’s scheduled for a preliminary hearing Nov. 6.
