The Denver Nuggets (43-24) conclude back-to-back home games by hosting The (14-51) Washington Wizards tonight at 7:00 PM MST. The Nuggets’ starting five edged past the Lakers backup squad despite giving up 126 points without the impact of Luka Dončić or LeBron James.
Nikola Jokic recorded a career-high 56 points in a loss to the Wizards this season where they struggled defensively, allowing Jordan Poole to sink nine 3-point shots and total of 39 points. Though they were without Aaron Gordon and Jamal Murray, they still couldn’t beat a team on a 16-game losing streak at the time. Given how the Nuggets have looked on the tail end of back-to-back games with their recent 140-127 win over the Thunder, they are coming into this one not overlooking the Wizards, but ready to end this one early on the home court. Here are a few player props to pick from in this match-up-
Jordan Poole under 18.5 pts (-115 on Bet365)
Wizards average 106.7 points per game on visiting courts, being the third lowest in the NBA. They stand at 7-25 on the road this season and will see a loss of production on the offensive side of the ball. Nuggets are looking for more of a satisfying win to close out these back-to-back games and will work harder defensively to do so.
Nikola Jokic over 12.5 rebounds (-115 on Bet365)
Jokic’s career-high 56-point night and 16 rebounds didn’t mean much to the MVP candidate after a tough loss to the Wizards that same night back in December. Nikola averages 12.8 boards this season while the Wizards give up 56.7 rebounds on average to opposing teams. This might lead to Jokic closing in on his 52nd double-double of the season or even his 30th triple-double of the season to break his current single-season record for the Nuggets.
