Like our latest podcast episode, this post is a mix of fun facts, local finds, and upcoming foodie events. Buckle up!
Did you know? Walt Disney himself was once invested in a local entertainment center! The Celebrity Sports Center on Colorado Boulevard used to be a one-stop shop for family fun, offering bowling, swimming, arcades, and even miniature golf. Sadly, it’s no longer around, but it’s a cool piece of Denver history.
Speaking of Disney, some of you might know I’m a total Disney addict. My uncle worked for the studios, and Disneyland was a yearly tradition growing up. Fast forward to today, my husband Chris and I are full-blown Disney adults – even got married at Epcot!
If you’re planning a Disney trip with your own little ones, be prepared for some sticker shock. But hey, gotta make those magical memories while they believe, right? Here’s a tip: consider a VIP tour. It might cost extra, but you’ll skip the lines and experience all the new rides without the hassle.
Local Adventures:
A big thanks to Jake Salazar for recommending the Dinosaur Ridge hike! It’s an easy climb with stunning views at the top, and the best part – real dinosaur tracks you can see and even touch! There’s a museum and gift shop too, making it a perfect family outing.
Calling all Foodies!
Denver’s food scene is about to explode! Events like Top Taco, Chicken Fight, and Rare are right around the corner, and our stomachs are already rumbling. As part of I’m From Denver Media, we’ll be there to cover all the deliciousness. Get ready for mouthwatering steaks, local libations, and maybe a little sugar coma from all the yummy treats.
Lights, Camera, Denver!
Finally, a shoutout to Jake Salazar who’s heading to the Denver Film Festival! He’ll get to rub elbows with Hollywood A-listers like Minnie Driver. Stay tuned to the podcast for all the tea from that and the Def Jam event.
