As dawn breaks on the year 2021, things are looking more hopeful for the live concert industry than last year. Vaccines are being distributed across the United States as thousands of venues are finally able to apply for federal assistance thanks to the Save Our Stages provision in the latest stimulus package.
While the picture remains unclear, there are plenty of venues with dates on the books for 2021—mostly those rescheduled from 2020 when the timeline of the pandemic was, in general, widely underestimated. Take Red Rocks Amphitheatre, for example. The famous venue has a full slate of shows on its calendar for its 2021 season, which typically begins in April, from rescheduled 2020 shows alone. As we know all too well, however, no dates are set in stone in the age of the coronavirus.
