Rockies to Air 10 Games on Local TV Through New 9NEWS Partnership
Colorado Rockies fans will soon have more ways to catch their team in action without needing cable. Starting May 23, 9NEWS (KUSA) and its sister station KTVD-20 will begin televising 10 Rockies games during the 2025 season, all airing on Friday nights. The first game in the lineup features the Rockies taking on the New York Yankees at Coors Field. Five of the games will be simulcast on both 9NEWS and KTVD-20, with the remaining five airing exclusively on KTVD.
This move follows a successful partnership formed last fall between Kroenke Sports & Entertainment and 9NEWS to air select Nuggets and Avalanche games locally. Now, the Rockies are getting similar exposure, with games broadcast over-the-air and free to viewers across Colorado.
“This is a huge win for the community and the fans,” said 9NEWS President Mark Cornetta. “It’s about accessibility and giving fans more chances to watch their favorite teams without barriers.”
Rockies President and CEO Greg Feasel echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the team’s commitment to making games available through multiple platforms. “Whether it’s streaming, cable, or over-the-air, fans now have more ways than ever to watch Rockies baseball.”
The selected games are all Friday home matchups, allowing 9NEWS to feature the team more prominently during its evening newscasts. The standard Rockies broadcast team — Drew Goodman, Ryan Spilborghs, Cory Sullivan, and Jeff Huson — will remain on the call.
In addition to TV broadcasts, all Rockies games will continue to be streamed on Rockies.TV and carried on regional cable systems.
