Denver is now the 7th most expensive metro area to live in out of the 50 largest in the US. The rise in prices is largely due to an increase in home values, which has made the city less affordable for many residents. Home prices in Denver have grown at some of the highest rates since 2000 and are now more expensive than anywhere but a handful of coastal enclaves. Anytime Estimate, an interactive calculator that tracks housing sales data across 50 top U.S. metros over the past 20 years, found that most house prices have doubled across the nation.
The Denver metro area is one of the fastest-growing areas in America, with home prices growing by 204% over 22 years.
