A tragic two-car crash in Thornton has claimed the lives of four people. The accident occurred on Saturday evening near Thornton Parkway and Washington Street, just east of Interstate 25. According to the Thornton Police Department, one of the vehicles involved in the crash caught fire, resulting in the deaths of all four occupants inside.
The driver of the second vehicle was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. Authorities had to close the intersection for several hours, finally reopening it around 12:37 a.m. on Sunday.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and the identities of the victims will be released by the coroner’s office at a later time.
