A Denver woman, Scherrie Henderson, is fighting for her life after being brutally assaulted and robbed in downtown Denver. The attack occurred near the intersection of 22nd Street and Curtis Street on Oct. 13. Scherrie, a mother of three, was found unconscious by a passerby and rushed to Denver Health with severe injuries. Her sister, Daina Daniels, shared that Scherrie suffered a traumatic brain injury and has not woken up since the incident.
“Scherrie is very outgoing and makes friends wherever she goes,” Daniels said, adding that the hardest part is not knowing what her sister’s recovery will look like. The family believes she was assaulted and robbed, as her purse was found empty at the scene.
The Denver Police Department is investigating the attack, but no arrests have been made. Henderson’s family has started a GoFundMe to help with medical costs as they face an uncertain future.
