Two people were injured and transported to a local hospital following a shooting in Denver’s Virginia Village neighborhood on Thursday evening.
The shooting occurred at approximately 6:14 p.m. in the 5300 block of Asbury Avenue, near South Glencoe Street. It appears to have taken place at an apartment complex in the area.
As of Thursday night, the Denver Police Department had not provided details about the severity of the victims’ injuries. Authorities are currently working to gather information on potential suspects involved in the shooting.
According to the Denver Police Crime Data dashboard, Virginia Village has experienced 13 aggravated assaults over the past year. The neighborhood’s most common crime is larceny (theft of personal property), with 112 incidents reported in the area.
