FedEx Truck Catches Fire at Aurora Mall, No Injuries Reported
A FedEx Ground box truck burst into flames Friday afternoon in the east parking lot of the Town Center at Aurora Mall. The fire broke out around 4:30 p.m., but the driver escaped safely before the flames intensified, and no injuries were reported.
Aurora Fire Rescue arrived to find heavy flames and thick black smoke pouring from the truck. Firefighters quickly ensured no one was trapped before extinguishing the fire using water and foam. The Aurora Police Department also responded to secure the scene.
Investigators later determined the fire was caused by a mechanical failure under the hood. While the incident disrupted mall traffic, emergency crews swiftly controlled the situation. Authorities continue to review safety measures to prevent similar mechanical failures in the future.
