Colorado Landlord Caught on Video Faking Assault After Forcing Entry Into Tenant’s Home
A viral video has surfaced showing a Colorado landlord, Lisa Anderson, allegedly faking an assault after unlawfully entering the home of tenant Vontese Wines, a Black woman. The confrontation, captured on video by Wines’ son, shows Anderson collapsing to the floor and screaming that she was being “choked” and “hurt,” despite no visible physical contact.
The incident occurred on March 1 when Anderson arrived with a locksmith to serve an eviction notice before the rent deadline outlined in Wines’ lease. Wines told CBS Colorado that her lease allows payment until noon on the first of the month, but Anderson had repeatedly pressured her with early payment texts.
Doorbell footage shows Anderson and the locksmith attempting to drill the front door lock, sparking the confrontation. During the argument, Anderson can be heard groaning, asking someone to call the police, and falsely accusing Wines of assault.
Wines said she felt intimidated by the landlord’s actions and chose to move out shortly after the incident. She and her son have since relocated to a new home where they feel safe.
