Brazen Tire Theft Caught on Camera at Denver Car Dealership
A southeast Denver car dealership fell victim to a bold daytime tire theft on February 17, with surveillance footage capturing a suspect loading four new Michelin tires into a vehicle during normal business hours. The suspect drove into the dealership’s receiving area around 11:45 a.m., took the tires, and left in a car with a temporary Colorado license plate displayed in the back window.
According to a dealership spokesperson, the same man has returned three or four times attempting to steal more tires but has been unsuccessful. The dealership, which has asked to remain anonymous, reported the incident to Denver police and believes similar thefts may have occurred at dealerships in Colorado Springs. The stolen tires are valued at $800, and authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Denver Police Department.
