Hello June Gloom and massive hail balls.
This month has been full of floods, weather advisories, and sprinkles of sunshine. On Wednesday night concert goers at Red Rocks were in for a surprise when a violent hail storm took over as the finishing act.
Denver 7 reports seven people were taken to the hospital while 80-90 others were treated at the scene.
“We were huddled down and there was so many people just trying to get through or cover themselves” Marissa and Kellie, two concertgoers said, told Denver7. “”They gave a warning real quick. They were like ‘there’s severe, severe, severe weather. You should head to your cars, could be including hail. T minus 10 seconds. “
Currently a flood watch is in effect until midnight tonight, as severe weather brings more hail and flood warnings.
According to a tweet from The National Weather Service it’s best to seek shelter now.
“Another round of strong to severe thunderstorms is expected this afternoon and evening across the I-25 corridor and plains. Large hail will again be the main threat, but any storms that develop could produce heavy rain, gusty winds, and frequent lightning. Stay prepared!”
